Creativity from the land
The original course uses materials from the land to involve youth in discovering what is useful, natural, and native to the location.
A portable competition format
The original inflatable course combines accessories, themes, and physical challenges with the live experience.
Our activity inventory includes foam, tire runs, tube crawls, team races, inflatable mazes, the Double Helix Obstacle Course, and The Wasp’s Nest.
Discovering New Adventures: the show.
The S.T.E.M./S.T.E.A.M.-based family game show connects Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics with a competition format. The four-episode pilot explores the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, followed by the Vaccine Special.

The original capability statement documents the Soda-Free Summer collaboration: jobs for 14 young adults and participation by more than 250 children across Oakland in that program.
Young staff gained experience in resume building, set design, food-safety preparation, leadership, video production, camera operation, and drone-piloting techniques. These are figures from the original documented program, not a total across all years.

BlackLantern worked with the Director of Nutrition Services to provide free family photoshoots promoting eating healthy together.
The production team supplied backdrops and lighting, designed the setup with ACPHD props, photographed and retouched the images, and prepared them for canvas displays across ACPHD’s Oakland offices.
